Consists of records concerning city and municipal audits, primarily between 1983 and 1989. Supplementary information is included at the end of most of the audits consisting of all or a part of the following: Comptroller's Office letter of acceptance, report review checklist, contract to audit, correspondence between comptroller's office and city or audior, and working paper evaluations. Most audits are arranged first chronologically by the closing year of the audit, then alphabetically by the name of the entity.

The Comptroller of the treasury is a constitutional officer elected by the General Assembly for a term of two years. State statutes prescribe his duties, the most important of which relate to audit of state and local government entities and participation in the general financial and administrative management of state government.
